There was a time, about 15 years ago, while still living in France,
that I traveled a lot in Africa, and I was deeply impressed by the
African people, who still had one foot in the past, with all their traditions
and culture, and one foot in the contemporary world.
Both, the tribal tradition and native art were so strong.
They greatly inspired me, but it is only for the past 2 years ,
that my work has become very influenced by all thesemental
and emotional "souvenirs". My work about the Sentinels is,
obviously, a translation of African art sculpture and painting combined with specific African symbols.
